Bookkeeping and VAT

Photograph it and forget it

Letters from the Dutch tax office come to us, in Dutch. You hear from us in English, and only when there is something you need to know.

What we file

One team for the company and for you personally, so the two returns never tell a different story.

VAT

Registration, quarterly or monthly returns, and the awkward cases: foreign clients, reverse charge, digital services and customers outside the EU.

Income tax

Your personal return as an entrepreneur. Included in the fee for a sole proprietorship, quoted alongside it if you own a BV.

Corporate tax

For your BV, and your holding if you have one. Prepared together with the annual accounts so the two never contradict each other.

Annual accounts

Prepared, discussed with you and deposited at the Chamber of Commerce on time.

The M return

The return for the year you moved to the Netherlands. A different form, considerably more work, and the one most people get wrong on their own.

Payroll and dividend filings

Monthly payroll tax returns, and the dividend filing when you take one, including the checks that have to sit behind it.

More than bookkeeping

Filing is the floor, not the service.

Good bookkeeping records what has happened. The value is in the three moments where looking ahead changes the outcome.

These are examples of topics we may review. Any advice depends on your individual circumstances.

  • Before your year closes

The last weeks of a financial year are when something can still be changed. We look then, not in April when the only thing left to do is report what happened.

  • When something changes

A first employee, a second country, a big purchase, a partner joining. Each is a moment where the right question saves more than a year of bookkeeping costs.

  • When a letter arrives

Dutch tax letters are addressed to you, because that is how the tax office works. You photograph them in the app and we take it from there: you hear from us in English, with what it means and whether it needs anything from you.

Where our work stops

Being clear about this up front saves everyone a difficult conversation later.

We do
Everything Dutch: VAT, income tax, corporate tax, payroll tax, annual accounts, the M return, and the advice around them.
We do not do
US tax returns, FBAR and other American filings. Those stay with your own CPA or enrolled agent, and we are used to working alongside one.
We also do not do
Immigration, permits and residence applications. That is a separate profession, and we will introduce you to someone who does it properly.

A price built around your business

Your legal form, revenue, invoice volume, bank accounts and payroll determine your fixed monthly fee, including the filings above. Answer eleven questions and receive your personal quote within 15 minutes.

Questions we get a lot

Do you give advice, or only file?
Both, and the advice is the point. Filing is what we owe you; looking ahead is why you would choose us. Every package includes advice hours, and we schedule a moment before your year closes rather than waiting for you to ask.
Can you speak to the Dutch tax office for me?
Yes. The letter itself arrives at your address, because the tax office writes to you and not to us. Photograph it and send it over, and we deal with it: we answer in Dutch where a response is needed, and you get the meaning in English.
I think I have been overpaying for years. Can that be corrected?
Sometimes, within limits. Returns can be amended for a period after filing, so it is worth asking rather than assuming it is too late. What is possible depends on the year and the item.
Do you work with my accountant abroad?
Regularly. Most of our clients have an adviser in their home country, and the two returns have to tell the same story. We are comfortable coordinating directly with them.
Is tax advice included in the monthly fee?
Yes. Every package includes a number of advice hours per year. Only special situations fall outside that, and those are quoted before we start, so you are never surprised by an invoice.
